Magnolia is a city on the rise with our many industries, fine shopping, numerous restaurants, hotel accomodations, bed and breakfasts, and the Southern Arkansas University campus.  Its also much fun with our many celebrations, namely the Magnolia Blossom Festival which takes place in the historical downtown area the third week in May when the beautiful magnolia blossoms are in full bloom; the World's Championship Steak Cookoff starting with the parade of cookers, which has been featured in Southern Living Magazine; and the Lights Fantastic Festival which is held on December 1st.

    Recreation includes our very own Lake Columbia, six miles west of Magnolia for fishing and water sports, Logoly State Park for campingand trails, four public parks, Magnolia Country Club 18-hole golf course, bowling lanes, and motion picture theater.

    Our academic facilities include public schools for kindergarten, elementary, middle,  junior high, senior high; Magnolia Special Services; Columbia Christian Center; and Southern Arkansas University which includes four undergraduate schools and a two-year nursing program.
